The first was the White Crow Tomato Sauce "See Tony Lockett Score a Goal" promotion. You got to sit in a "super box" at Waverley (party pie anyone?) and watch Plugger take on Richmond in '93. I won because Mum took the entire entry pad off the counter and filled them all in. True to form, Plugger was injured and didn't play but met us in the hospitality suite for some Tooheys Red and an autograph.

The second was one of those Victorian Bushrangers raffles from which I was 'lucky' enough to win Simon Cook's unused Bushrangers kit bag, full of kid size cricket gear.

I will let you guess which of those prizes I enjoyed the most.Russell Jacksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03152496966119769144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7617110411308288381.post-32426020116062025712013-05-11T22:59:33.092+10:002013-05-11T22:59:33.092+10:00I've got a contender for this, but it was free...I've got a contender for this, but it was free so it doesn't quite count in the Scamorabilia Hall of Fame.

It's a framed bat with the top ten moments of the Channel 9 cricket era, given away as a prize on their coverage in (possibly) the 2001/02 season (but maybe 02/03). You had to put the memorable moments in order, which I didn't actually do but knowing exactly what they were looking for I made sure that the famous ODI game under lights at the SCG was in 1st place.

There are certainly no real signatures on it, but I can't remember if there are fake ones. Either way when I tried to sell it at some sort of Legends and Heroes store I was told the frame was worth more than the bat, and on Ebay somebody offered to swap it for 'premium' South Australian wines.

First prize was a trip to some resort in the NT which I would have at least got some use out of.

I think it's in @amul82's basement, but if he sold it at Cash Converters then good luck to him because I'll never be rid of it otherwise.

The biggest shock was going to the post office on foot, and not a short distance away, to collect 'a parcel' and then being confronted with a gigantic box which I had to a) indiscreetly tear open in the street to find out what it was and then b) lug home without dropping and breaking it.Adam 1.0https://www.blogger.com/profile/10232438435178283697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7617110411308288381.post-49728961608131234282013-04-03T22:36:32.018+11:002013-04-03T22:36:32.018+11:00Your curation of cricket kitsch is a thing to beho...Your curation of cricket kitsch is a thing to behold, Russell.
